Why toy wholesale is different
Toy wholesale runs on tight calendars and a lot of paperwork
Toy and game brands juggle long lead times, a holiday-heavy calendar, and a buyer list that runs from one-store shops to national distributors. Spreadsheets and PDF line sheets can't keep up for long.
The calendar is fixed
Buyers commit to spring and holiday assortments months ahead, often at trade shows. If ordering is slow or confusing, the slot on their shelf goes to another brand.
Every account buys differently
An independent toy store, a museum shop, and a distributor all need different pricing, minimums, pack sizes, and payment terms. That usually means several versions of one price sheet.
Compliance travels with the product
Children's products need third-party testing and a Children's Product Certificate, and retailers ask for them. Digging through inboxes for a certificate slows down a first order.
Show leads go cold
A great conversation at a booth turns into "send me your line sheet." Without a way to order on the spot, many of those leads never become first orders.
Reorders need chasing
Bestsellers sell through fast in Q4. If restocking means another email thread, stores wait or switch to something already on the shelf.
Marketplaces take a cut of every reorder
Marketplaces can find new retailers for you, but they own the relationship and take a commission on every order that follows.
How GlobeTrader helps
One portal for your whole toy and game line
GlobeTrader is a brand-owned wholesale portal, not a marketplace. Here's how each problem above maps to a feature.
| Toy wholesale problem | What you do in GlobeTrader |
|---|---|
| Fixed buying calendar | Publish each season as a digital line sheet in your portal. Take preorders with ship windows for spring and holiday, and use sales forecasting to plan production against real orders. |
| Different terms per account | Set customer-group pricing, wholesale price tiers, and volume discounts, plus MOQs and case packs and net terms per customer, all from one catalog. |
| Compliance paperwork | Attach your Children's Product Certificate, test reports, and other product documents to each SKU. Approved buyers can see them right on the product page. |
| Show leads going cold | Print a Quick Order QR code for your booth. Buyers scan it, open your portal, and place the order at the show. |
| Reorders that need chasing | Buyers reorder from order history in a couple of clicks, and payment reminders and invoices go out from the same system. |
| Marketplace commissions | Orders on your portal carry 0% marketplace commission. You pay a flat monthly plan, and your brand owns the buyer data. |

Built for how toy brands sell
Sell direct, through reps, and at shows, all from one catalog
Most toy brands sell through a mix of channels. GlobeTrader puts all of them in one system, so you don't have to re-key orders.
- Branded wholesale portal. A wholesale link on your site. Buyers apply, you approve them, and retail shoppers never see wholesale prices.
- Independent rep network. Reps log in, place orders for their stores, and track commissions without emailing your team.
- Invoicing and payments. Card, ACH, PayPal, and net terms, with invoices created from each order.
- 100+ integrations. Sync catalog and inventory with Shopify, Magento, and other platforms, plus accounting and shipping tools.
“We figure that we save at least 2 hours a day (easily) by using GlobeTrader to process our wholesale orders. Even more impressive is that our reorder rates from existing retailers are up 4 fold because the system can send order reminders to stores that haven’t ordered in a while. It’s been an absolute game-changer for us!”
Toy & game toolkit
Everything a toy brand needs to take wholesale orders
Line sheets & catalog
Seasonal collections, age grades, and product details in one portal buyers can bookmark.
Case packs & MOQs
Sell by the inner or master carton, and set opening-order minimums by account type.
Tiered pricing
Separate price lists for specialty retail, distributors, and key accounts. No duplicate spreadsheets.
Preorders & ship windows
Take holiday preorders early, set a ship window on each one, and track them next to in-stock reorders.
Tradeshow QR ordering
Booth QR codes open your portal on a buyer's phone, so show orders get written at the show.
Rep network
Give independent reps logins to order for their stores and see their commissions.
Real-time inventory
Stock stays in sync across channels, so a hot holiday item isn't oversold.
Marketplace commission
Flat monthly plans. Reorders on your portal cost you nothing extra.
Seasonality & trade shows
Plan your wholesale year around the toy calendar
Show dates change every year, so confirm them with the organizers. The pattern holds, though: book early, restock fast, and be ready for the holidays.
Toy Fair New York
The Toy Association's trade-only show at the Javits Center. The next one runs February 20–23, 2027. Put your portal QR code on booth signage and your line sheet.
Opening orders ship
Turn show conversations into confirmed orders. Buyers finish their carts in your portal, and reps follow up on accounts that haven't ordered yet.
Specialty retail & holiday buys
Independent toy retailers meet at the ASTRA Marketplace & Academy (June 2027, Pittsburgh). Holiday assortments get locked in around this time.
Replenishment
Fast reorders win the season. Stores restock bestsellers from order history while you watch inventory in real time.
A quick note on U.S. toy compliance
Retail buyers will ask about safety compliance. Here are the basics every U.S. toy seller should know:
- Under the CPSIA, children's products (designed mainly for kids 12 and under) must be tested by a CPSC-accepted third-party lab and certified on a Children's Product Certificate (CPC).
- ASTM F963-23 is the mandatory U.S. toy safety standard for toys made on or after April 20, 2024.
- The certifier must provide the CPC to each distributor and retailer. Starting July 8, 2026, importers must also e-file certificate data with U.S. Customs at entry.
GlobeTrader doesn't test or certify products, and this isn't legal advice. For current requirements, check the CPSC's toy safety guidance at cpsc.gov. GlobeTrader lets you attach your documents to each product, where approved buyers can view them.
FAQ
Toy & game wholesale on GlobeTrader
What is a wholesale portal for toy brands?
It's a private, branded ordering site where approved retailers and reps see your wholesale prices and place orders. GlobeTrader (globetrader.com) gives toy and game brands that portal, along with pricing tiers, case packs, invoicing, payments, and rep tools. Your brand owns the customer relationship.
Can I set case packs and minimum order quantities?
Yes. Case-pack rules make buyers order in multiples of your inner or master carton, and MOQs set opening and reorder minimums. Then add wholesale price tiers, volume discounts, and customer-specific pricing and payment terms. A specialty store and a distributor can order the same SKU at different prices and minimums.
How does GlobeTrader help at Toy Fair and other trade shows?
GlobeTrader includes a Quick Order QR code tradeshow system. Put the QR code on your booth, catalog, or line sheet. Buyers scan it, open your portal, and order right away, and those orders land with the rest of your wholesale orders.
Does GlobeTrader handle CPSIA testing or certification?
No. Testing and certification are the manufacturer's or importer's responsibility, using CPSC-accepted labs. In GlobeTrader, you can attach your Children's Product Certificate and test reports to each product, and approved buyers can view them when they order.
Can independent sales reps place orders for my toy line?
Yes. Reps get their own logins to place orders for the stores they cover and track commissions. You see every rep order in the same dashboard as direct and portal orders.
How much does it cost compared with a wholesale marketplace?
GlobeTrader plans are $199, $299, or $499 per month, with lower rates on annual billing. There's no marketplace commission on orders placed through your portal. Payment processing fees depend on the plan. See the pricing page for details.
100+ integrations
Connect ecommerce, accounting, shipping, and payments so your wholesale orders stay in sync with the rest of your business.
